Hey look, Alan Haber was there!!! I couldn't believe it! OK well yes I could, because he's helping some UM students restart SDS right now on campus.
Alan Haber was the first president of Students for a Democratic in 1960. He still lives in Ann Arbor today.
Campus Unite, an umbrella group for six activist groups at the University of Michigan, staged a rally outside the administration building March 15, 2007. The University Board of Regents was meeting inside the building at the same time.
Campus Unite includes University chapters of Students for a Democratic Society, BAMN, and Students Organizing for Labor and Economic Equality, among others.
Some of the main issues: same-sex partner benefits, divestment from Halliburton funding, anti-sweatshop labor funding by the University, and renewable energy.
