Question by le hibou sage: Why doesn't sex trafficking in the USA get more exposure?
It's usually thought that sex trafficking is isolated to third world countries, but there's a lot of it going on right beneath our noses. I don't think I've heard one news story about this problem, so what's the deal? Why isn't this being made into a big deal? How can we educate people who aren't aware of it?

I agree with you 100%. More publicity should be given to this subject.
Young girls from Eastern European countries are tricked into leaving home on a promise of a better job. When they reach England or France their passports are taken from them and they are forcibly fed drugs to become addicted. They are raped and made to become prostitutes: what money they earn is taken from them to buy drugs some of which is fed back to them.
The girls are passed from hand to hand being bought and sold at a price that reflects their earning capacity. They are held prisoner and are lost to the world. They are slaves and are never seen again.
Some mother's daughter, somebody's sister.
The fiends who carry out this practice should be hanged.
